Fanfic recs!

Be warned, this post is basically acting as a way of storing these fics because I keep losing the bookmarks; I'm adding them as I find them, or they are recommended to me, for pretty much the same reason:

Short message service: Sherlock has a secret friend (long before he met john) who also likes to text.

Voulez-vous: It’s an ordinary day at 221B apart from the fact that Sherlock is speaking in French. What John doesn’t know is that Sherlock has an ulterior motive. What Sherlock doesn’t know is that while John may not speak French, he’s almost fluent in Sherlock.

A Brief Account of Life With Zombies: Sherlock thinks it's all a bit of a nuisance, John is having the time of his life, and Mycroft is Not Impressed. With anything, but mostly his minions' inability to provide a good cup of tea.

Not just commonplace burglars: Donovan is called out in the middle of the night in order to help arrest some rather unusual burglars. And it's funny, because these burglars seem oddly familiar...

Broken wings and cigarettes: Sherlock has been missing, presumed dead, for two years. So when he is discovered, abused and broken in a serial killer's cellar, things can never be the same again.

The irregulars: Series of ficlets featuring the baker street irregulars and their relationship with Sherlock

Mouth of Babes: Several weeks after the explosion at the pool, Lestrade visits the recuperating Sherlock and John at 221b Baker Street. He brings case-files and food... and a visitor in tow...

Four at the Thousand Faces: John, Sherlock, Lestrade and Mycroft are heroes, whether they realize it or not. And there is a certain journey that all heroes are entitled to take.

The theory of narrative causality: John Watson is a Fanfiction author, Sherlock is a fanartist. They are paired to work together and geeky love ensues.

Alone on the water: One of the best-known BBC!Sherlock fics online. Sherlock is diagnosed with a brain-tumor, he has maybe a month to live.

We Believe: One of the post-reichenbach "I believe in Sherlock Holmes" fanfics that sprang up in the aftermath of series two. Moving, funny and sad, it's a great piece of work.

Cabin Pressure

Rules for Martin: The students martin lives with have a list of rules for caring for the pilot in the attic.

Christmas in Molokai: Martin would always remember it as his most favourite Christmas ever!

Even sky-gods are mortal: First officer Richardson isn't as indestructible as he'd like everyone to believe.

Far from flying high in clear blue skies: Martin didn't feel a thing. He was already gone. (Yes, I know. I love martin!whumph. Sue me.)

Just my luck: Five times martin's bad luck almost got him killed... and one time it did.

X Men First Class

The Bell's Toll: AU fic in which Charles is a sociopath, and is captured, first by mutants, then by humans. But even amid the mutants, things may be more sinister than he thought, especially when it comes to his trainer, Erik Lensherr.

Feline Persuasion: When Charles looks down at his wristwatch and realizes he’s been going on about catnip brands for at least ten minutes, he realizes several other things too: he is officially a crazy cat person now. And he is never going to get laid again.

The walls are bleeding:  AU!fic (no powers) in which Erik Lensherr moves into a house haunted by Charles Xavier, murder victim.

Shots: Written for a prompt on the 1stclass-kink meme: The kids start a drinking game where they take a shot every time Charles says "groovy" or "my friend. They are always drunk.

5 Ways Logan fixed everything (like a boss): What would have happened if Charles and Eric had managed to recruit Logan? (In which Logan manages to solve everyone's problems through snark and BAMFery)http://archiveofourown.org/works/271133?view_adult=true

Avengers 2012

The Avengers of Madagascar: Response to this prompt on the capkink meme: Avengers/Penguins of Madagascar Crossover: The Avengers have seen strange things in their line of work. The strangest thing they ever saw was when they came across alternate versions of themselves. This is pure cartoon fluff. Some penguins do get their feathers ruffled but it's all in good fun.

Lord knows, it would be the first time: They might be flawed and have things to work out, but all the Avengers share conviction. And Tony Stark's robots. And Clint's waffles. Plus all the after-Avenging food forays and Darcy's playlist. Everything else will work itself out in the end.

Broken hearts: The last person he expected to spend his last moments with was Loki. That was the last person he expected to try and save him as well.

Of Bonding and Baking:
Welcome to the island of Misfit Toys. Here's a cookie.

The Gastronomical fortitude of Gods versus mortals: 5 times Clint and Thor ate disgusting things for science, and 1 thing they refused to eat.

I'd buy a big house where we both can live: Missing - Tony Stark, billionaire businessman, heir to Stark industries, reward: none. Only Steve didn't know when he picked the waterlogged unconscious man up from the bank of a river.

IronSpotting: The citizens of New York take pride in their icons. They love their avengers, and particularly keep an eye on Tony because LOOK. SO SHINY. He's also rather hard to miss when he's flying.

The act of creation will be your salvation: When Tony stark was 17 years old, he built his first AI. On that day, he ceased to be his father's creation, and became a creating force in his own right. That one act likely saved his life, and not in the most obvious ways.

Scars: Bruce wakes up to find Tony nearly dead. There's only one person who could be at fault: himself.

Safe haven, a home: Tony offers Bruce something he never thought he'd have again.

Follow forever: 'We can reblog each other's stuff to boost the notes count, start a shipping war, troll Cap's tag...' he trailed off when he received only a blank stare in response. 'Kitten gifs,' he tried tentatively, pouting a bit.

The Fury/Stark NEVER again list: all the things which Tony Stark is not allowed to do again. Ever.

Better living through finer suits: "That's right, guys. I just saved the world with shopping."

Daddy issues, AKA one big happy family: Jarvis has some... interesting... revelations. Pure crack.

The Avengers' Do Not or Never Do Again List: What it says on the tin. These are "do not" lists for each individual avenger. Have fun.

Strict Construction: In which S.H.I.E.L.D attempts to commandeer Jarvis without really thinking the idea through.

Four (or five) reasons for kidnapping Tony stark: There are four reasons for kidnapping Tony Stark. Tony's sick of all of them. Well, there's potentially a fifth, but it's highly unlikely that Captain America will suddenly fulfill THAT fantasy. Tony's deeply disappointed about that.
Steve Rogers, as always, is oblivious. At least, that is, until someone who isn't him kidnaps Tony. Then he's just pissed.

Vast and Shaking things: Tony, Bruce and Jarvis and the difference between people, weapons and slaves. Part of the deus ex series. Very good.
Deus ex 1:http://archiveofourown.org/works/394243
2: http://www.archiveofourown.org/works/399219
and 3: http://www.archiveofourown.org/works/404965

Some things shouldn't be a chore: Steve takes things like personal responsibility and respect seriously. Tony's got people he pays to take care of that kind of thing, and anyway, he's pretty sure that he's going to die of some exotic disease in his workshop, because Dummy's still a little spotty about what is 'clean' enough to put on an open wound. The rest of the Avengers are in this for personal gain, except for Clint, he just enjoys being a dick. And some things shouldn't be a chore.

Make time: Somewhere along the line, without quite meaning to, Sam Vimes had acquired a hobby.

As events dictate: In the aftermath of a fire at the Patrician’s Palace, Vetinari is feared dead, but all is not quite as it seems (god I suck at summaries!), and Drumknott gets a most unusual job offer.

Of empires and education: The future of Ankh-Morpork is discussed.

Flash Paper: There's an arsonist loose in Ankh-Morpork. And Sam Vimes is stuck behind a desk.

And a hard boiled egg: A character study  of Vetinari from a young child up as far as Unseen Academicals.

Mister Vimes'd go spare!: In the wake of the death of his Grace Sir Samuel Vimes, the various city watches across the Disc are brought together in a way seldom observed among coppers.

Patients wearing thin: Young Sam is a doctor. No real plot or anything, just enjoyable to read. And funny, obviously - it's a Discworld fic! :)

Joining the dots: it was just that... a dot dot dot relationship... It was just a matter of joining the dots.

Good Omens

Silver tins and old bottles: “Don’t even try and tell me otherwise, Crowley.”

Wheel 'n' deal:
I was having a really bad day. The type that starts with a baseball bat to the head, and ends with a really smug demon helping you out of a summoning circle.

And so we come full circle: "Angel, you know it's gonna be really bad, this time around," Crowley says slowly. "When the time comes, I want you to--"

One minute, at the last: After a while the battle fell silent around them. Neither cared overmuch.

A spark of goodness: It is said that those who have fallen are beyond God's grace. But never before has one who fell sought forgiveness...

Original Sherlock Holmes

Deliver us from evil: part 1: Mortality: Late 1890: A young gentleman hires Sherlock Holmes to investigate his step-uncle, Culverton Smith. As Holmes digs deeper, he finds links to a powerful old enemy—and must come face to face with his own mortality. The first part in a series.

Calvin and Hobbes

Who is? I am: If you're looking at it right, there's very little difference between a cardboard box and the universe.

This kid I once knew: Daniel sends Suzie's whole improv group an e-mail saying "check this out, it's cool!!!" and a link to a web comic called The Adventures of Spaceman Spiff.

Every day is a reminder: There is a certain fear some children share as they grow up, that whatever they do will never be as good as what's come before. Among all the other things he will ever be, Calvin has never been one of those kids.

Dr. Horrible's sing-along Blog

Reaction mechanism: Anyone can be a villain. That's just a matter of making a choice.

Echoes in a lonely world: Dr. Horrible carries his device (it doesn’t have a name yet, but he’s been mentally referring to it as "That Empathy Thing") with him on heists for a week and a half before Captain Hammer finally shows up. Not nearly as serious as the title suggests.

Startrek 2009

Teenage troubles: Jo loved her fathers, she really did, but dammit, she liked this guy. Meeting the parents sucks, but when your fathers are Enterprise legends Dr Leonard McCoy and his husband Captain James T. Kirk, it just adds an extra layer of pressure/

House [M.D]

Air Conditioner: After Head and Heart, House is physically damaged. A previously existing co-worker-with-benefits relationship with Foreman is the only connection he has to rely on afterwards.

The Contract: He laughed silently and hysterically: He was a human piano of pain. House the human piano of pain. It had a nice ring to it. Very dark: Strong House/Wilson friendship. Cuddy and Steve McQueen. Complete with DVD extras and missing scenes.

The man with no name: In a cabin by the wood lives a man with no name. A post series fic set years in the future - what becomes of House?

Various and Crossovers

Clash of the titans: Doctor who/house/the mentalist/sherlock crossover. It also helps if you know some monty python. Stick them all in the same room and see what happens!

They're watching, so beware: “I really think you have the wrong Time Lord here,” the Doctor tried to explain. “If you’re looking for a would-be-evil-mastermind, then I can introduce you to the Master. Well, I could have, except he’s dead. Well... probably. Never can tell with him.”

Everything you ever: The Avengers catch a broadcast live from Los Angeles. Tony is somewhat distracted by the toys.

Twelve-step plan: A very specialised villain support group meets on Tuesday nights...

Saving expertise: Captain Hammer's day-saving is interrupted by a smartass with a flying suit of armor - which naturally means the third party is a villain, right?

You must come in at the door: "Who the hell drank all my booze?" Tony shouts at the universe, at Thor, at JARVIS, at Pepper, at his teammates who seem to think he really meant it when he said "Mi casa es su casa" and wasn't just being nice, and, for good measure, at Thor again.

Muppet show episode 193 - with special guest star Loki!: The Muppets have a very special guest star this week...

Upholding the laws of time: Calvin and Hobbes/Doctor Who crossover. Calvin encounters the Doctor. Or, rather, the Doctor encounters Calvin...

Waiting for vengeance: When Dr. Doom's technology and Loki's magic react badly to each other, the Avengers are sent into the future, leaving Jarvis to watch the world crumble and Panem to rise as he waits for their return.

Two brain cavities are better than one:  Skulduggery Pleasant/BBC!Sherlock crossover. Skulduggery’s skull resided in Baker Street 221B for while before it was stolen and eventually made its way along to Valkyrie and Tanith, to be returned to the Skeleton Detective himself.

Percy Jackson and the Demigod Avenger: Percy Jackson/Avengers crossover. A hammer comes smashing into camp. Percy picks it up...

Mortician on the flight deck: Cabin Pressure/BBC!Sherlock crossover, a series of martin/molly shorts and drabbles.

Detectives and consultants: A BBC!Sherlock/Mentalist crossover. When red smileys begin to appear over dead bodies in the UK, Mycroft Holmes calls in a particular CBI team to take the case, along with his younger brother.

A mutual Doctor: BBC!Sherlock/Doctor Who crossover. Series of drabbles - Sherlock travelled with the Doctor once upon a time, and this is a series of stories where he meets his other companions.

Demons run: ACD!Sherlock Holmes/Doctor Who crossover fic, replacing Amy and Rory with Watson, Holmes and a little Mary Morstan.

Sherlock Squared: A RDJ!Sherlock Holmes/BBC!Sherlock/Doctor Who crossover. When both Holmeses(?) switch places, both watsons discover how different they are, but also how similar they can be.

No Matter: Doctor Who and Sherlock Holmes Crossover, where the Doctor and Martha get sent to a parallel dimension. Guess who they meet...

More will follow.

Thanks for recommendations!
By the way, have you read "No Matter" - Doctor Who and Sherlock Holmes crossover by Sarah the nerd? It's brilliant, really brilliant, though it reminds more of a movie scenario rather than a proper fic, it is still a fantastic piece of work.
